BearNotes is used by the PTA and M-A Administration to communicate with parents about school news and upcoming events. The PTA sends BearNotes to registered users by email once a week on Monday mornings, and the Administration uses it as needed for timely announcements.

How can I join BearNotes?

If you signed up on a list, we may have misread your email address. Try joining BearNotes online using the above button. Also, be sure to check your service provider's spam filters and make sure BearNotes@mabearspta.org is on your approved list or in your address book.

You may also contact John McMurtry to view the eNotes archives for previous school years. Archives are listed by month and range from Feb. 2004 to June 2008. Find the month that you want to review and click on the word "Date" for a list of that month's eNotes.

How to Submit Items

• Submit email items to BearNotes@mabearspta.org. Do not send submissions to anyone's personal email address.
• Type "BearNotes submission - subject matter" in the subject line, where subject matter is the topic to be published. (Example: "BearNotes submission - Feed Our Families")
• Items for publication should be included in the body of the email, not as attachments, due to software differences.

When to Submit Items

• BearNotes is scheduled to be published once a week by 6 a.m. Monday morning, unless otherwise indicated.
• Send submissions by Thursday midnight to be published the following Monday.
• If submitted in advance, indicate in the body of the message which week to run.

What to Submit

• Submissions should be CONCISE, and include the organization name, event, date, time, location, and contact info, including website URLs. Submissions missing vital information may not be published in a timely manner.
• Please spellcheck/proofread submissions first, and format them in Arial 10 pt.
• Submissions are usually not used more than twice in the exact same format. For repeat publication, please change the text and resubmit it every two weeks.
• Please include the hyphen in Menlo-Atherton High School and when using the initials M-A.
• Community interest items, unrelated to M-A, will be held to a one line event description, date, time, location, website and contact..
• No attachments or pictures are sent in BearNotes, but URLs (links) for forms or pages on appropriate web sites are included and encouraged.
• BearNotes will be emailed in HTML format, with the choice of receiving text only submissions.

General Information

• The PTA BearNotes team reserves the right to edit or reject submissions.
• The M-A PTA is a non-profit organization, with a non-commercial, non-partisan and non-sectarian policy which is strictly enforced. In particular, notices of a personal, political, religious, commercial or editorial nature will not be published.
